"In the Name of Han Solo, Amen"

The Trickle Down Effect

3. I had my heart set on sewing a Super Grover costume.
2. Luke wants to be a Storm Trooper for Halloween
1. Willy bought a Darth Vader Costume.

Dinner Time Effect
Me- Dinner time! Everyone come sit down!
{Luke comes running to the table, grabs his fork, examines his food, looks at me questioningly}
Luke- Pooo-oop?
M- No. Dinner.
L- {takes a sniff] It stink. It poop.
Will- Pray over it first.

Mom is on hold with the utility company* effect:
Luke clogged the sink with toilet paper. Water was flowing out of the bathroom. Cleaning this mess up was marginally better than.... disinfecting the floor when he misses the toilet, or changes his own diaper. And I'm talking about poo, people.

*actually I was talking to my friend about our up coming trip to the beach, but it was a very important conversation

Copy Cat

Isabella and I are sitting on the kitchen floor spoiling our dinner with a bag of JellyBellies.

M- Ewwww! Yuck. I don't like the banana flavour.
I- Ewwww! Yuck. I don't like banana. Just like you mom

[Later]

I- These black ones are yucky.
M-Yeah. Licorice is yucky. Let's save them for Daddy.

[Later]
I-Banana! Again! Let's save this one for daddy too.

Some people say the sun is made of orange cheese

Dad- What are you kids gonna do today.
Buggy- Well, I can't watch TV today because I yelled at mom yesterday.
Dad - Oh? What are you gonna to do instead?
Buggy- I'm goin' to play my bideo game.

Isn't it convenient that when our children are the most demanding we are the least inclined to oblige them! Our DVD player is a double edged sword. I'm sure it's half the reason Isabella is ill humoured, but I can't forbid her to watch or I might have to deal with orneriness for 12 hours straight. That darned TV! It's so easy to turn on, and exponentially more difficult to turn off.
