I'm seriously reconsidering our family birthday policy. This year we told Isabella she didn't have a choice- she had to take the money. A Party or FamilyOuting wasn't a option.
But I like parties and I like family outings and I like choosing the gifts. In short I want to spoil my kids, and this year I got robbed. No worse. I had to bite my tongue while Isabella bought another American Girl Doll, when what she really needs* is the AG Tent plus accessories to increase the play value of the dolls she already owns.
*Wants, too. We've spent hours pouring over the catalogue together and she wants the tent. I just didn't know she really really valued a new doll she could name more. Personally I want Saige's Hoy Air Balloon-FYI. http://store.americangirl.com/agshop/html/item/id/215889 now tell me that sn't cool.
